The following is a a short introduction to the modules that the Salsa Script Engine can use in any script at any stage in the production chain. Some modules has a link to a PDF file that will tell you more about the module. On the Download pages can you download manuals about all modules. The module converts ripped TIFF files to EPS, PostScript and PDF. The generated file could be used in a varity of implementations. The module supports a number of compression algorithms including CCITT Group 4.
  The module has a lot of configuration possiblities regarding color and page size handling.

Converts composite TIFF files (normally from a RIP) to EPS, PostScript, PDF and TIFF/IT (CT). Supports Grayscale, RGB and CMYK color modes. The generated file could be used in a varity of implementations as for example proofing.
  The TIFF/IT option makes it possible to have all information in CT which is a very common format in gravure printing.
  When creating PostScript files can you insert as many elements (EPS files) as you wants to. The module has an advanced page size configuration allowing you to output the file on any PostScript printer.

Combines (merges) separated files into one composite file or a single file but still separated. Some formats will require that the receiving application has support for PostScript Level 3.

This module will use the Salsa database meaning that the Salsa Server must have been installed on your system before using the module.

The Copydot2Compopsite (C2C) module will take copydot files (normally from a film scanner) and create a composite EPS file. This EPS file can then be used in a PDF workflow.

Graphic Prepress Solutions has developted a number of modules that can create barcodes as EPS files.

Example of barcode types are: Code39, Code128 and 2Interleaved5.

The module downsamples composite TIFF files. The generated file is typically used for proofing in combination with the Composite Converter Module.

There is a module in the Salsa system that make it possible to control Adobe Acrobat Distiller from a script allowing Salsa to be able to track and control events and commands sent to Distiller.

The Salsa WinPrint Module can send raw data to any printer installed in the Salsa Server computer. For example can PostScript data be sent to directly to any PostScript enabled printer through Windows Printer Spooler.

With the module can you create a final page from any number of EPS files that can be mounted at any position. The page can be saved as a PostScript file and be sent to any PostScript enabled output device.
